What we hold to
Our Values
Values are the habits we try to keep when no one is watching the meeting.
Creativity
We protect the right to experiment. A failed draft is a step, not a verdict.
Respect
We respond to the work on the page. Disagreement is welcome; disdain is not. Every participant is entitled to courtesy regardless of experience, background or opinion.
Inclusion
We try to remove the practical barriers — cost, venue access, jargon, language — that keep people out of literary spaces, and we ask for help when we cannot remove them alone.
Integrity
We say what we do and do what we say. We do not claim partnerships, funding or achievements we do not have, and we correct the record when we get something wrong.
Craft
We take writing seriously as a skill that can be learned and refined: through reading, practice, revision, and the useful discomfort of feedback.
Generosity
We share what we know — techniques, reading suggestions, opportunities — and we credit others when their ideas improve our own.
